If necessary, Download Acrobat Reader here. The choice for continuing education among MFTs and LCSWs Enjoyable, Practical, and Affordable Continuing Psychology Education Inc. (CPE) is approved by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a provider of continuing education (Provider number PCE 2156). These courses meet the qualifications of continuing education for MFTs and LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. CONTINUING EDUCATION MADE EASY A licensee shall accrue at least thirty-six (36) hours of continuing education courses as defined in Section 1887.4 of the California Code of Regulations. Effective February 1, 2003, Section 1887 of Article 8 allows MFTs and LCSWs to obtain all 36 hours of required continuing education online; these hours are no longer considered self-study. Section 1887.3 requires completion of six (6) hours in the subject of Law and Ethics every two-year renewal cycle beginning January 1, 2004. For renewals after January 1, 2004, licensees must complete a one-time course in Spousal or Partner Abuse. For renewals after January 1, 2005, licensees must complete a one-time course in Aging and Long-Term Care. HOW OUR SERVICE WORKS
Please note: By Board of Behavioral Sciences rule, Section 1887 of Article 8, effective February 1, 2003, allows MFTs and LCSWs to obtain all 36 hours of continuing education "electronically." Faxing either the booklet or online answer sheet, or emailing the online answer sheet counts as an "electronic" submission, thus, more than 12 hours can be completed in this manner because these hours are no longer considered "self-study." When completion of more than 12 hours is involved, the answer sheet must be submitted "electronically" (by fax or email), in other words, the answer sheet cannot be mailed. For completion of 12 hours or less, the answer sheet may be submitted by mail or electronically. You may receive the Certificates of Completion by mail if you wish. To Send by e-mail: The Answer Sheet will be sent via e-mail after you click the "Submit" button on the Answer Sheet. You can also print the Answer Sheet and send via fax (or mail for 6 or 12 hours). To Send by Mail: Mail the completed Answer Sheet with a check (payable to Continuing Psychology Education) or credit card information to: Continuing Psychology Education Inc. P.O. Box 9659 San Diego, California 92169 To Send by Fax: Fax the completed Answer Sheet, including your credit card information, to Continuing Psychology Education Inc. at Fax # 1-858-272-5809. Upon receipt, Continuing Psychology Education Inc. will promptly return your Certificates of Completion by mail, fax or e-mail. We will fax your Certificates of Completion at no additional charge, simply check the box and include your fax number on the Answer Sheet. TOTAL COST: Subjective Well-Being (Happiness) and Healthy Personality are $39.00 each. Law and Ethics, Spousal/Partner Abuse, and Aging and Long-Term Care are $59.00 each. CERTIFICATE RETURN TIME: Certificates of Completion are promptly returned to you by first class mail, e-mail or by fax at your request. If you do not pass with a grade of 70% or better, then you will be asked to re-take the test, at no additional charge. ONLINE COMPLETION: To complete the course(s) of your choice, simply complete the Answer Sheet (click the "California Answer Sheet" link on the Home Page and click, pencil or pen your answers), then fax or email the Answer Sheet to us. These online courses are completely identical to the booklet courses you received in the mail. You may choose to receive your Certificates of Completion online immediately, or later, by fax or mail.
