Continuing Education for social workers, counselors, and LMFTs

To obtain your certificate, click either METHOD A or METHOD B on the "NASW Answer Sheet" link as described below.

METHOD A
If your social work, counselor, or LMFT licensure is in any of these states:
Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas social work, Arizona, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Ohio social work - which may request post-program approval after course completion, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina social work, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia social work, Wyoming.

The procedure to obtain your certificate involves the following two steps:

Access the 20-question test for each course by clicking the "Illinois Courses" link (on the left side of Home Page), click the name of your chosen course(s), scroll down to the last two pages of the course to access the 20-question test and write down the test answers on a piece of paper.

PLEASE NOTE: The test for each of the booklet courses has changed from 35 to 20 questions and the tests are accessed on our website as indicated in the paragraph above; the 20-question tests are taken from the booklet tests of 35 questions, hence, no new questions are involved.

Obtain your certificate by clicking the link entitled, "METHOD A" on the "NASW Answer Sheet" link and follow the prompts which include making your payment, transferring your test answers and printing your certificate immediately.

The State Social Work/Counselor/LMFT Boards for the states indicated in "METHOD A" accept continuing education that is accepted by "another State Social Work/Counselor/LMFT Board." Our courses are accepted by numerous state boards and we are using our State of Illinois Social Work/Counselor/LMFT Board approval as the representative "another State Social Work/Counselor/LMFT Board." Your printed certificate is accepted by your specific State Social Work/Counselor/LMFT Board.

You may also complete any of the courses listed on the link entitled, "Illinois Courses" because your specific State Social Work/Counselor/LMFT Board accepts all of these courses. The list of accepted courses includes these courses: Subjective Well-Being, Healthy Personality, Ethics, Domestic Violence, Healthy Aging, Ethics: Case Studies I, Ethics: Case Studies II, Women's Health, Women's Health II, Famous Therapist Errors, Famous Therapist Errors II, Ethics: Cases and Commentary, Ethics: Cases and Commentary II, Positive Psychology I, Positive Psychology II, Positive Psychology III, and Positive Psychology IV.

METHOD B
If your licensure is in any of these states:
Arkansas counselor/LMFT, Connecticut counselor/LMFT, Iowa counselor/MFT, Kentucky, Maine - confirm your board accepts NBCC, New Hampshire, North Carolina counselor, North Carolina MFT - confirm your board accepts NBCC, (North Carolina social work - our courses are not accepted at this time), Ohio counselor/MFT, Pennsylvania, South Carolina counselor/LMFT, South Dakota counselor/LMFT, Vermont, Washington DC counselor, West Virginia counselor, Wisconsin.

The procedure to obtain your certificate involves the following two steps:

Access the 20-question test for each course by clicking the "Counselor/Therapist/NCC Courses" link (on the left side of Home Page), click the name of your chosen course(s), scroll down to the last two pages of the course to access the 20-question test and write down the test answers on a piece of paper.

Obtain your certificate by clicking the link entitled, "METHOD B" on the "NASW Answer Sheet" link and follow the prompts which include making your payment, transferring your test answers and printing your certificate immediately.

We also combined several courses into one course, as explained below.
Due to different NBCC rules regarding course hours, please note that the booklet courses entitled, Ethics: Cases and Commentary I and Ethics: Cases and Commentary II have been combined into one course entitled, Ethics: Cases and Commentary; either course alone cannot be completed, instead, both courses must be read. Likewise, the online course entitled Positive Psychology is a combination of the booklet courses Positive Psychology I, Positive Psychology II, Positive Psychology III, and Positive Psychology IV, and all four courses will need to be read because any one of the four Positive Psychology courses cannot be completed by itself. The online course entitled, Women's Health is a combination of the booklet courses entitled, Women's Health and Women's Health II. The online course entitled, Famous Therapist Errors is a combination of the booklet courses entitled, Famous Therapist Errors and Famous Therapist Errors II. The online course entitled, Ethics: Case Studies is a combination of the booklet courses entitled, Ethics: Cases Studies I and Ethics: Case Studies II.

The booklet and online courses are the same, except for the course, Ethics: Cases and Commentary which has a small amount of new information added, on page 9, and 14 through 17. In other words, you do not have to read the online courses if you have already read the booklet courses because the courses are the same.

The State Social Work/Counselor/LMFT Boards for the states indicated in "METHOD B" accept continuing education that is accepted by NBCC and our courses are NBCC-approved. Your printed certificate is accepted by your specific State
Social Work/Counselor/LMFT Board.

You may also complete any of the courses listed on the link entitled, "Counselor/Therapist/NCC Courses" (which lists our NBCC-approved courses) because your specific State Social Work/Counselor/LMFT Board accepts all of these courses.
